GERARD CHICHE & ÁLVARO BLASI: INTERDISCIPLINARY DENTISTRY: BRIDGING CLASSIC CONCEPTS WITH DIGITAL INNOVATIONS

Dr. Chiche is presently Clinical and Emeritus Professor at Louisiana State University, School of Dentistry. He is a Past President of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, and he has lectured in Esthetic Dentistry nationally and internationally in 35 countries. He is the author of two textbooks in Esthetic Dentistry published by Quintessence Publishing Co. He became in 2009 the first recipient of the Endowed Chair sponsored by the Thomas P. Hinman Dental Society. He is the 2020 recipient of the Icon Award for Lifetime Achievement in Dentistry of the Seattle Study Club, 2025 Golden Medallion Award of the American Prosthodontics Society, and the 2025 C. Pincus / R. Goldstein Award of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry.


Alvaro Blasi, DDS, CDT, PhD is an American Board-Certified Prosthodontist and a Certified Dental Technician. He completed a three-year Prosthodontics residency program at Augusta University, Dental College of Georgia. Following this, he was selected for a one-year Esthetic and Implant Fellowship at the Goldstein Center at Augusta University. Dr. Blasi earned his dental degree from the International University of Catalonia (UIC) in Barcelona, Spain, where he also obtained a PhD in Digital Technology. He serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral Rehabilitation at Augusta University and as faculty at UIC in Barcelona. Currently, he is the Editor-in-Chief of Quintessence Técnica dental journal. He has published extensively in international journals on topics related to interdisciplinary treatments, esthetics, and implants and lectures nationally and internationally in the field of prosthodontics. His main areas of interest include perio-ortho-pros treatments, esthetics, occlusion, and implant restorations. Dr. Blasi maintains a private practice in Barcelona, Spain, at Blasi Clinic.


This program will depict interdisciplinary dentistry patient cases and concepts both from traditional and from contemporary digital standpoints. The team will present cases emphasizing foundation esthetic principles and techniques applied to both small and larger interdisciplinary cases, and will progress from simple, straightforward scenarios to multi-disciplinary rehabilitations. Classic methods and the latest technologies will be integrated to enhance esthetic and function patient outcomes along with materials selection and their associated bonding techniques.


Upon completion of this course, attendees should be able to:

  • Optimize traditional and digital methodologies in comprehensive esthetic rehabilitation.

  • Integrate classic techniques with digital tools in interdisciplinary treatment planning.

  • Manage alteration of VDO in esthetic rehabilitations according to various clinical scenarios.

  • Select appropriate restorative materials to optimize aesthetic and functional success, along with their optimum bonding techniques.

  • Structure interdisciplinary treatment strategies to achieve predictability in Esthetic Dentistry.
