Everyday clinicians face the conundrum of treating natural teeth and dental implants that have been compromised as a result of the disease process. This evidence-based presentation will focus on the critical factors that impact a clinician’s decision to retain and salvage or remove compromised teeth and implants. Furthermore, predictable treatment strategies that improve the foundation around both teeth and implants in a manner compatible with form, function and health will be discussed in detail. Participants will leave this program able to implement what they’ve learned immediately to enhance clinical outcomes for their patients.
Upon completion of this course, attendees should be able to:
Understand the critical restorative and surgical factors that influence the decision to retain or remove natural teeth and implants and how this fits into the context of interdisciplinary care.
Understand various treatment modalities for salvaging natural teeth and dental implants affected by the disease process.
